Responsibilities
Manage day‑to‑day activities of Environmental Technicians in the field and facility.
Partner with sales to conduct job walks and prepare estimates and pricing.
Conduct regular quality assurance visits to customer sites and follow up on issues.
Ensure documentation meets state, federal, EPA, DOT, and DEA regulations and customer agreements.
Monitor staff performance against guidelines and apply corrective actions as needed.
Hold weekly meetings with staff to provide updates and address issues.
Assist in developing and modifying field Standard Operating Procedures.
Hire, train, coach, counsel, motivate, discipline, and terminate team members when necessary.
Participate in annual goal setting, performance appraisal, and compensation change recommendations.
Develop training materials and ensure effective instruction.
Provide regular and ad‑hoc reports to management.
Assist sales with store and distribution center inspections and serve as liaison among Sales, Office Operations, and Field Services.
Manage field exceptions and resolve atypical problems.
Accept ownership of controlled pharmaceuticals on behalf of Clean Earth.
Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management.
Starting salary: $80,000 DOE.
Basic Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Five or more years of experience in lab packing, segregating pharmaceutical waste, chemical service specialist, or truck driving
Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
Hazardous waste processing experience
Two or more years of field management experience
Willingness to accept ownership of controlled pharmaceuticals
Ability to properly classify controlled substances by DEA guidelines
Experience and general knowledge of RCRA, DOT, and DEA regulations as they relate to waste characterization and hazardous waste transportation
Knowledge of computer software applications including MS Office Suite
Willingness and ability to travel via automobile and commercial airline up to 25% with occasional overnight travel
Ability to use general office equipment (phones, computers, copiers, etc.)
Ability to work in a busy, often distracting environment that is generally climate‑controlled
Additional Requirements
Obtain a CDL B within 6 months of start date; failure to obtain means ineligibility for the position.
Contingent upon successful completion of a DOT physical, DOT Drug Screen, and any other DOL or company requirements.
