Our client, a global leader in advanced security and inspection technologies, is seeking an experienced

Supplier Quality Engineer

to join their high‑performing team. Their systems are deployed worldwide across airports, ports, government and defence facilities, and other high‑security environments.

In this role, you will be a key technical authority working across Supply Chain, Engineering, and Manufacturing to ensure suppliers consistently deliver right‑first‑time components and assemblies. You will lead supplier qualification, drive process improvements, resolve complex non‑conformances, and help shape a best‑in‑class supply base.

Key Responsibilities Supplier Quality & Development

Lead strategic supplier development initiatives to drive capability, quality, and on‑time delivery.

Build strong, long‑term supplier relationships to ensure sustained performance.

Own the supplier audit program for critical suppliers.

Conduct regular assessments, drive closure of findings, and maintain supplier performance metrics.

Part / Process Qualification

Qualify new and existing supplier manufacturing processes, including outsourced secondary operations.

Support Production Part Approval (SPC), tooling qualification, and First Article Inspection (FAIR) activities.

Nonconformance & Corrective Action

Lead root cause analysis, failure investigations, and corrective action activities (8D, 5 Whys, Pareto, CAPA).

Work cross‑functionally with Engineering to review and resolve complex technical issues.

NPI & Change Management

Participate in NPI and design reviews to ensure supplier requirements are fully aligned.

Support configuration management, engineering changes (ECR), and technical support requests.

Own supplier quality KPIs, reporting, and CAPA management.

Drive process improvements, cycle time reduction, and cost‑down initiatives.

General

Uphold core values of integrity, accountability, teamwork, and innovation.

Communicate comfortably with senior leadership and elevate quality issues as required.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or Technical preferred) or equivalent experience.

10+ years

in Supplier Quality, Procurement Engineering, or Quality Engineering within complex mechanical/electro‑mechanical manufacturing.

Strong experience with: PCBA and electromechanical manufacturing

Heavy metal fabrication and precision machining

GD&T, stack‑up analysis, measurement methods

ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 (TS16949 / AS9100 advantageous)

Proficient in reading mechanical & electrical drawings; SolidWorks preferred.

Strong analytical skills, statistical techniques, FMEA, data analysis.

Experience leading process improvement teams and major projects.

Strong Microsoft Office skills; D365 MRP and Agile configuration management a plus.

Internal/External Auditor certifications highly beneficial (Lead Auditor preferred).

Must hold a valid passport and driving licence and be able to travel up to 25%.
