Job Summary Join Our Academic Surgical Oncology Team - Focus in Peritoneal Surface Malignancy, Melanoma, or Pancreatic Cancer. The Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha—part of the NCI-designated Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center—is seeking academically driven Complex General Surgical Oncologists to join its dynamic team of 12 faculty. The Division is nationally recognized for its clinical excellence, robust multidisciplinary programs, and NIH-funded translational research.
Highlights
Peritoneal Surface Disease (PSD): One of the highest-volume programs in the region, with two senior surgical oncology mentors and ample opportunities for clinical and academic mentorship.
Pancreatic Cancer: A well-established multidisciplinary pancreas clinic with a potential leadership opportunity in pancreatic surgery for qualified individuals. The division collaborates closely with a robust Pancreas Cancer Center of Excellence, supported by multiple NCI-funded translational researchers.
Melanoma Program: Fully integrated with medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, and radiology, providing the infrastructure for cutting‑edge patient care and research.
Research Infrastructure: Access to robust clinical trials support, biostatistics core, tumor banking, and basic science collaborations.

Required Qualifications The ideal candidate must be an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) and is board certified/eligible in General Surgery and/or Complex General Surgical Oncology. We are seeking individuals with a strong commitment to academic surgery, including excellence in clinical care, research, and education.
Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated interest or expertise in peritoneal surface malignancies, hepatobiliary surgery, and/or melanoma. Both experienced surgeons and graduating fellows are encouraged to apply.
