Position: Deputy Division Chief, Energy and Ratepayer Advocacy Division (ERA), Energy and Environment Bureau, Boston Office ( Boston, MA ).

Job Summary Attorney General Andrea Joy Campbell is looking for a highly motivated and skilled attorney and manager to join her team as Deputy Division Chief in the Energy and Ratepayer Advocacy Division (ERA) of the Energy and Environment Bureau.

Responsibilities

Assist the Division Chief in supervising and directing the activities of a Division of approximately 23 employees (Managing Attorneys, Assistant Attorneys General, Energy Analysts, Paralegals, Senior Policy Advisor, Energy Consumer Liaison, Administrative Assistant).

Oversee litigation of matters at the DPU, FERC, Superior Court, Supreme Judicial Court and other ERA matters.

Review and edit Division work product; supervise paralegals and support personnel; oversee mentoring and training of new staff members.

Assist the Division Chief on press and legislative issues; assign and track cases; manage day-to-day operations; prepare activity reports; oversee consumer complaint and outreach efforts; supervise technology and case tracking systems.

Serve as lead attorney on selected cases or policy initiatives.

Qualifications

A member of the Massachusetts Bar.

At least five (5) years of experience as a practicing attorney, including at least three years of experience in public utility regulation or other energy-related practice.

Excellent writing, editing, analytical and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work well within a team in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to quickly and successfully learn previously unfamiliar concepts and material is preferred.

Experience mentoring and/or supervising legal and non-legal staff of varying experience levels is also preferred.

Job Type: Full-time / Exempt, Hybrid model with some remote days.
