Director of Business Development & Showroom Operations
Base pay range: $115,000.00/yr - $150,000.00/yr

An exciting opportunity to join a premier luxury architecture and design firm in New York! This team is seeking a Director of Business Development & Showroom Operations member to play a key role in their dynamic organization. This position offers the chance to work on prestigious, high-end residential projects while representing an award-winning brand. The ideal candidate will have a proven background in sales and business development, paired with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
Key Responsibilities
Location: Brooklyn, NY (Hybrid schedule: four days per week in the showroom). One Saturday per month required in-office.
Drive full-cycle business development, from identifying and qualifying high-value leads to closing deals and building long-term partnerships.
Develop and maintain relationships with architects, designers, contractors, and other industry professionals to expand market presence.
Represent luxury, system-based approach confidently to sophisticated clients and partners.
Oversee day-to-day showroom operations, including staffing, scheduling, training, and maintaining operational workflows and standards.
Ensure the showroom environment consistently reflects the brand and delivers a world-class client experience.
Guide clients through design philosophy and product offerings with professionalism and discretion.
Collaborate closely with internal teams across sales, design, and operations to support continuous improvement and innovation.
Provide field feedback to inform product development and operational enhancements.
Skills and Experience
5+ years of experience in sales, preferably within architecture, design, or high-end residential markets.
Proven ability to build and manage a personal pipeline and close self-sourced deals.
Strong operational leadership experience, including managing teams or showrooms.
Excellent understanding of project timelines, resource planning, and operational workflows.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for interpreting financial data and invoices; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and strong written communication skills for drafting emails and reports.
Confident, persuasive communicator with the ability to engage architects, designers, and creative professionals.
Strategic thinker with a business mindset; comfortable overseeing high-level operations.
Detail-oriented, highly accountable, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Adaptable and resilient in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment with a long‑term growth mindset.
Benefits and Compensation
Base Salary: $115,000–$150,000, depending on experience.
Commission Structure: Competitive, performance-based.
Hybrid schedule: 4 days in-office at the Brooklyn showroom, with flexibility for travel as needed.
