Base Pay Range $275,000.00/yr – $400,000.00/yr
Summary The Columbus VA Ambulatory Care Center in Columbus Ohio is looking for a full-time board‑certified or board‑eligible Oncologist to join our team. The position will provide comprehensive patient care in the form of consultative outpatient Hematologic and Oncologic care. Duty location is in Columbus – OH. This position is authorized for Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment).
Qualifications To qualify for this position you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Applicants pending the completion of training or license requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met. Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.
Basic Requirements
United States Citizenship: Non‑citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from a school approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a US state, territory, Commonwealth, or District of Columbia.
Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
Residents currently enrolled in an accredited residency program who would otherwise meet the basic requirements are eligible to be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs). PRPs must be fully licensed physicians and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee‑basis.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Physical requirements include working in a primarily patient‑care setting that is adequately lighted, temperature‑controlled, and ventilated.
Duties
Providing Hematology/Oncology care to Veteran patients in an outpatient clinic setting, prescribing chemotherapeutic and non‑chemo medications, and performing bone marrow aspirations and biopsies.
Documenting clinical encounters in a timely manner in the Electronic Health Record.
Maintaining accurate data on all procedures.
Attending section meetings, quality committee meetings, and similar administrative functions.
Preparing monthly, quarterly, semi‑annual, and annual reports concerning the department.
Preparing and updating policies and procedures for the department in compliance with Joint Commission guidelines.
Performing administrative duties related to staff evaluations, training, and policy development.
