Position Type:

This is a "Pipeline" position for near future openings for Level I, Level II, and Level III Speech Language Pathologist.

Work Location:

Main Hospital Campus - Outpatient Services Responsible for evaluating speech/language of children and providing remediation for children with communication disorders.

Minimum Education Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (Required)

Minimum Work Experience

Level 1 - 0 to 2 years of experience (Required)

Level 2 - 4 to 6 years of experience (Required)

Level 3 - 6 years of experience (Required)

Required Skills/Knowledge

Demonstrated flexibility in the evaluation process.

Shows knowledge of counseling techniques.

Shows empathy and caring.

Demonstrates knowledge of theoretical application.

Demonstrates knowledge of cultural and linguistic diversity.

Required Licenses and Certifications Speech‑Language Pathologist (Required) Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech/Language Pathology from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association and state licensure or CF eligible (Required)

Functional Accountabilities Patient Evaluations

Evaluate patients using standard and special procedures.

Use appropriate protocol for age and disorder, complete protocol in a timely fashion.

Show skills for a variety of disorders and test instruments.

Use knowledge of cultural linguistic features appropriately in the diagnostic process.

Use translators when appropriate; demonstrate use of appropriate language when necessary.

Adapt procedures for specialized disorders (e.g., stuttering, alternative/augmentative communication, bilingual, etc.).

Schedules/Self‑Management

Take initiative to maintain schedule.

Show flexibility with schedule changes.

Plan ahead for changes to schedule.

Meet department standards for patient contact hours.

Test Results/Clinical Reports

Report test results accurately using appropriate format.

Remediation Services

Deliver therapy in an appropriate manner.

Use knowledge of theoretical application with patient.

Prepare therapy progress reports, discharge summary and insurance requests based upon documented child performance within timeframe.

Show productivity in patient progress.

Show knowledge of counseling techniques - show empathy and caring.

Recognize the need for future counseling and know when to refer patient.
