Compensation Beginning Salary Pay Range: $19.23–$43.26 per hour or $40,000–$90,000 per year.
Commission
50 %–150 % of one month’s MRCs (monthly recurring charges)
1/12 of one‑time NRCs (non‑recurring charges)
1/24 of burst MRCs
Tenured Salary Pay Range $19.23–$52.88 per hour or $40,000–$110,000 per year, based on achievement of structured tenure‑and‑performance‑based pay increases.
Responsibilities
Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed regional sales territory via sourcing and hunting to target market segments of IP Transit, content creators/hosters, carriers/wholesalers and netcentric companies.
Through direct calling, email, and contact efforts, identify, qualify, and generate new business opportunities by working directly with key decision makers.
Complement prospecting and selling efforts through onsite customer meetings as needed.
Use consultative and relationship‑building selling techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
Help Cogent customers and prospects position our services for new business by leveraging the global network footprint that includes commercial and retail buildings, carrier‑neutral hotels, data centers, and colocation facilities.
Qualifications
3–8 + years of solid B2B sales experience in a telecom arena with collocation, wholesale experience, and data transit and transport.
Proven experience with a track record of success in a direct hunting, B2B sales role and quota achievement.
Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify, and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and a CRM.
College degree preferred but not required.
