About the Company Robotic Imaging is a national leader in reality capture, site survey services, and Scan-to‑BIM production. We operate dozens of scanning teams across the U.S. and deliver 3D models + point‑cloud‑driven insights for major retailers, architects, and facility operators. Behind the scenes, our entire operation runs on an internal software ecosystem, managing capture workflows, point cloud processing, BIM production pipelines, QA/QC, scheduling, client coordination, invoicing, and portfolio analytics.

About the Role We are now hiring a dedicated Software Developer to own and expand this internal system, streamline business operations, and build the backbone that powers hundreds of projects per month.

Responsibilities You will build and enhance the software that powers the entire lifecycle of a site survey project, from scheduling capture to delivering BIM models. You’ll lead efforts including:

Core Platform Development

Expand our internal operations platform that manages:

Capture scheduling & technician assignments

Project initiation, client requirements, and deliverable workflows

Registration + point cloud file management (structured/unified)

Modeler tasking, revisions, and approvals

Portfolio- and project‑level dashboards

Build automated workflows that currently require manual coordination or spreadsheets.

Automation & Integrations

Integrate with tools such as Leica Register360, Autodesk Revit (via API), Matterport, Google Workspace, HubSpot/CRM, and our delivery portals.

Build API endpoints for pushing/pulling job data, deliverables, and status updates.

Data & Analytics

Create internal dashboards that track:

QA/QC KPIs

Project timelines vs. actuals

Revenue, performance ratios, and late/on‑time metrics

Build analytics layers to help leadership forecast capacity, utilization, and delivery speed.

User Experience

Develop clean, intuitive interfaces for field techs, BIM modelers, QA/QC teams, and project managers.

Build mobile‑friendly workflows for on‑site capture status updates and uploads.

Ensure platform reliability as the company scales from hundreds to thousands of sites annually.

Plan for multi‑department user roles, access permissions, and secure file handling.

Implement robust audit trails, job histories, and error‑handling flows.

Qualifications

Backend: Node.js or Python (FastAPI/Django), PostgreSQL, Firebase/Firestore (existing), AWS (S3, RDS, Lambda)

Frontend: React, Next.js, Tailwind, shadCN UI, Chart.js / D3

Integrations/Tools: Autodesk Forge/Revit API, Matterport API, Leica APIs, Dropbox/Drive, HubSpot, Slack webhooks

Infrastructure: Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), AWS, Vercel

Plus (Nice‑to‑have): Experience with OCR, file parsing, point cloud metadata handling, or automation tooling (n8n/Zapier)

Required Skills

Have 3–7+ years experience as a full‑stack or backend engineer

Have developed internal workflow tools or operational software

Are excited to build a platform that directly impacts scanning, modeling, QA/QC, and operations

Understand (or are eager to learn) how Scan-to‑BIM workflows work end‑to‑end

Can manage both rapid MVP automation and long‑term scalable architecture

Like working closely with founders and department leads to ship improvements quickly

Preferred Skills

Experience with BIM, Revit API, CAD tools, or 3D/point‑cloud workflows

PropTech, AEC tech, construction tech

Building scheduler, workflow, or ticketing‑style systems

Familiarity with reality capture, Leica scanners, point clouds, or Scan‑to‑BIM pipelines

Startup or greenfield platform experience
