About the Role Energy Exemplar is seeking a highly accomplished
VP, Corporate Controller
to lead our global accounting organization during an exciting phase of growth and transformation. This executive will oversee all global accounting operations while operating as a hands‑on, versatile leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, international environment. This role requires a unique blend of operational acumen, technical excellence, and leadership strength, particularly within fast‑paced environments.
The VP, Corporate Controller will lead a global team across accounting, tax, treasury, and financial operations. This individual will operate with deep visibility across the business, regularly interacting with senior internal leadership as well as our private equity partners. The ideal candidate brings strong experience from international companies and demonstrates the ability to wear multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and continuously develop a high‑performing
global technical accounting and operational finance team
Oversee global accounting operations, including the monthly and annual close, consolidation, reporting, and internal controls
Ensure compliance with GAAP, international statutory requirements, and evolving regulatory expectations across regions
Manage relationships with audit firms and oversee domestic and international financial statement audits
Technical Accounting & Operational Excellence
Serve as the senior authority on technical accounting matters
Drive operational improvements and modernise accounting systems, processes, and controls to support scale and efficiency
Partner cross‑functionally to strengthen financial data integrity, forecasting accuracy, and operational decision‑making
Tax, Treasury & Broader Financial Operations
Oversee global tax, treasury, cash management, and compliance activities, ensuring appropriate governance and risk management
Own treasury strategy in partnership with the CFO, including liquidity management, capital structure support, banking relationships, and debt covenant compliance and reporting
Manage and coordinate global tax advisors
Stakeholder Engagement & Private Equity Partnership
Work closely with senior leadership, including the CFO, CEO, and global executive team, providing clear financial insights and recommendations
Serve as a senior financial liaison with the board supporting reporting, board materials, and value‑creation initiatives
Present financials, operational improvements, and key insights to both internal and external stakeholders with clarity and confidence
Required Qualifications
10+ years of progressive accounting and financial leadership experience, including global, multi‑entity operations
Experience within an international company is required, ideally within a high‑growth technology or software environment
Proven leadership of a global accounting team (10+ employees), with demonstrated ability to develop high‑performing, technical talent
Strong technical accounting expertise (GAAP required; IFRS a plus)
Hands‑on experience spanning accounting operations, tax, treasury, controls, audit, and financial systems
Private equity experience is required, including interaction with PE partners and delivering on value‑creation initiatives
CPA or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred
Strategic thinker with the ability to operate at both the executive and tactical levels
Exceptional communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership and external investors
Demonstrated agility—comfortable navigating ambiguity, scaling organisations, and driving continuous improvement
Collaborative, proactive, and highly accountable leadership style
