Position Summary: This position will report to the Senior Claims Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of property and casualty claims by ensuring timely and accurate processing of claims and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities:

Progressive experience managing Property and Casualty claims including providing oversight to TPA’s in managing claim investigations, settlements, and litigation discovery responses

Perform claim reviews to evaluate quality and adherence to established company standards

Identify claims for settlements and adequacy of case reserves; prepare draft settlement requests as assigned

Collaborate with EG HR and Benefits Department’s on return-to-work matters

Collaborate with Safety, Legal and other departments on claim-related mattersAssist in gathering claims data to report on trends and loss control recommendations

Assist in development of claims management procedures

Perform other duties or special projects as assigned

Working Relationships: HR, Legal, Health & Safety, Distribution Center, Culinary Center, Retail Field Operations

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in risk management & insurance, finance, accounting, criminal justice, or business administration

Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in risk management & insurance, finance, accounting, criminal justice, or business administration

Minimum Experience: 8-12 years of US casualty (general liability, workers compensation, auto liability and excess liability) claims management experience within a company (risk management department, insurance broker, insurance carrier or third-party claims administrator); experience with large retention or self-insured insurance programs; familiarity with workers compensation statutes

Preferred Experience: Minimum experience plus environmental claims

Licenses/Certifications: Certified Claims Professional (CCP), Associate in Claims (AIC), CPCU (Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter) or equivalent certification preferred

Soft Skills/Competencies:

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong analytical skills; critical thinking

Ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external partners

Strong interpersonal skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Ability to determine and meet internal and external customer needs.

Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team environment.

Travel: Limited travel required (5%)

Hours & Conditions: Typically, Monday – Friday, 8+ hour days in office setting, may be able to work 1 day from home with manager approval.

Physical Requirements: Minimal physical effort required, sitting / standing at computer for long periods of time. Ability to maneuver and lift to 10 lbs.
