We are seeking a highly motivated Director of Business Development – Space & Science to join our team, specializing in identifying and qualifying opportunities within the Federal sector, with expertise in NOAA, USDA, and related domains. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development, market analysis, and client relationship management within these sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research and Opportunity Identification
Conduct thorough research and analysis of the Federal market landscape, focusing on Space and Science sectors.
Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, including contracts, partnerships, and collaborations.
Qualification and Pipeline Development
Qualify leads and opportunities based on established criteria and strategic objectives.
Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities within the Federal sector.
Client Relationship Management
Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and decision‑makers within target agencies, particularly NOAA.
Engage with clients to understand their needs, challenges, and strategic priorities.
Proposal Development Support
Collaborate with proposal teams to develop compelling, compliant, and competitive proposals.
Provide input on technical and business strategies to enhance proposal success rate.
Market Intelligence and Strategy Development
Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activities impacting the Federal sector.
Contribute to the development of business development strategies and plans aligned with organizational goals.
Networking and Industry Engagement
Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities relevant to the Federal sector and Space and Science domain.
Build and maintain a professional network of contacts to support business development efforts.
Required Skills/Experience
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in business development within the Federal sector.
Proven track record of successfully identifying, qualifying, and capturing new business opportunities.
Strong understanding of Federal procurement processes, including familiarity with NOAA procurement procedures preferred.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
Salary and Benefit Information The likely salary range for this position is $170,500 – $220,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position and could fall outside of this range.
