Job Summary
SCM Director manages multiple supply chain teams, encompassing the organization’s product categories in the United States. This role focuses on optimizing the supply chain and fulfillment process, including order processing, inventory management, supply planning and demand planning. Additionally, SCM director oversees supply chain process improvement projects collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient decision‑making.
Understand the organization’s current process and seek opportunities to optimize system, process, and overall SCM structure to better manage the supply chain process. Lead continuous improvement projects and develop talent to elevate the existing SCM team to the next level.
The SCM Director will communicate opportunities, build consensus, and drive operational programs focused on innovation and growth. The role will ensure systems, processes, and resources are developed to improve our service levels for a better customer experience.
Responsibilities
Oversee the entire supply chain operations, including Supply Planning, Demand Planning (CPFR), and Order Fulfillment.
Provide overall leadership to the supply chain group, setting operational strategies, establishing business‑focused goals and objectives, and fostering continuous talent development.
Define, develop, and implement supply chain strategies aligned with company goals and customer/market demands, ensuring on‑time and cost‑effective delivery of goods and services.
Oversee inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels at all stages of the supply chain to meet demand fluctuations while minimizing carrying costs.
Lead the S&OP meeting to align monthly forecasts by reviewing CPFR and coordinating decisions across Finance, PM, and Sales.
Assess the current supply chain and identify opportunities for improvement. Propose potential projects and lead implementation of system/process changes to better serve customers while meeting organizational needs.
Work closely with the Logistics Team to understand Transportation Market Situations (Overseas/Domestic) and build processes to monitor risk and develop recovery plans.
Closely monitor and manage lead time (Production, Factory to Vessel, Port to Destination, etc.) ensuring that production schedules are aligned with lead‑time changes to meet customer MABD.
Develop, monitor, and analyze supply chain metrics to manage inventory levels, costs, and on‑time delivery.
Oversee risk management operations, identifying potential risks and implementing effective mitigation strategies/contingency plans to minimize disruptions and protect the organization’s financial, operational, and reputational interests.
Review and optimize the order release process to reduce overall lead time. Identify bottlenecks/root causes for delay and create internal alignment to speed up order release.
Prioritize departmental activities and set effective (SMART) goals and objectives aligned with overall corporate strategy.
Recruit, train, and mentor a team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational excellence. Manage employees, provide technical guidance, evaluate performance, and support career growth.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal/external stakeholders, negotiating favorable terms to support operational objectives.
Lead innovative initiatives to seek alternative systems/processes and new market best practices to keep the supply chain competitive.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
10+ years of Supply Chain Management Experience – PSI, Demand Planning, Order Management.
Advanced proficiency in supply chain software and platforms, including ERP systems and demand forecasting tools.
APICS Certification.
6 Sigma Green or Black Belt.
Experience managing supply chain in the Appliance Industry serving large retailers (THD, Costco, Lowes, Walmart, Amazon, etc.).
Managed large/complex supply chain projects with project management experience and global partners.
High level of understanding of WMS, YMS, TMS.
Strong analytical skills, high level proficiency in MS Excel.
Strong collaborative problem‑solver, effective communicator, strong presentational skills.
Ability to forecast, analyze, and prepare statistical data and metrics.
Ability to handle/mined data from multiple sources to create vital reports and databases.
Organized, responsible, able to work independently and as part of a team.
Depending on business needs, must visit customers and factories.
Ability to travel 10%.
