Position Summary The General Manager / Club Manager serves as the chief operating officer of the Lanam Club. This role manages all aspects of club operations, policies, and member relations, oversees staff performance and financial management, and ensures that all services and facilities reflect the Club’s standard of excellence. The Manager is a visible leader and ambassador to members, their families, and guests, ensuring a seamless, high‑quality experience that reflects the Club’s mission: tradition, hospitality, and community.
Key Responsibilities
Implement general policies established by the Board of Directors; direct their administration and execution.
Develop, approve, and enforce specific operational policies, programs, and procedures aligned with strategic goals.
Coordinate long‑range and annual plans in collaboration with the Board and senior staff.
Develop and maintain a sound organizational plan; initiate improvements as necessary.
Establish personnel policies; oversee hiring, training, evaluations, and professional development.
Oversee financial management, including budget preparation, monitoring, and reporting in coordination with the Controller.
Manage cash flow, safeguard funds, and ensure timely collection of payments for all services and events.
Oversee food and beverage operations, including menu planning, cost control, and quality assurance.
Ensure the highest standards of food, beverage, and member‑service quality in all areas.
Supervise the maintenance and preservation of the historic facilities, gardens, and club assets.
Promote the Club’s services and facilities to potential and current members; serve as a key community liaison.
Collaborate with membership and marketing committees to attract, engage, and retain members.
Oversee all club events, including weddings, social gatherings, and corporate functions.
Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as health, safety, and employment laws.
Attend meetings of the Board of Directors and standing committees; prepare reports and recommendations as requested.
Negotiate and recommend contracts for Board approval; manage vendor and contractor relationships.
Handle emergencies such as fires, accidents, and security issues promptly and personally.
Foster a culture of hospitality, professionalism, and accountability among all staff.
Maintain relationships with community leaders, government agencies, and neighboring organizations.
Qualifications
5–7 years of senior hospitality or private club management experience, with oversight of operations, staff, and budgets.
Proven record of financial management and revenue growth in a service‑based organization.
Bachelor’s degree preferred in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to engage with members, staff, and the community.
Experience managing dining, events, and member‑service operations in high‑end environments.
Proficiency with club management software, financial reporting, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Commitment to maintaining the Club’s heritage and aesthetic integrity while ensuring modern operational efficiency.
Service‑oriented leadership and member‑first mindset.
Strategic thinker with operational discipline and attention to detail.
High emotional intelligence; ability to motivate and develop staff.
Strong fiscal acumen and analytical ability.

Reporting Structure Reports directly to the Club President and Board of Directors. Oversees the staff such as Executive Chef, Office Staff, and Front‑of‑House team.
Competitive salary commensurate with experience, with performance‑based incentives. Salary range of about $105,000.
