Job Summary

This role will be responsible for collaborating with OEMs on developing, standardizing, implementing, and troubleshooting controls, electrical, and hardware solutions for robotics and material handling systems. The Systems Development Engineer will act as a liaison for internal and external resources, define requirements and standards from individual work cells to large complex MHE integrations across multiple vendors, and balance controls and software integration between stakeholders. The engineer will provide commissioning support to Operations Engineering Teams to achieve system performance before, during, and after the launch of greenfield or retrofit sites. Up to 75% regional travel is required, and the position may require working from the corporate office when not traveling. Candidates should be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office. Relocation assistance may be provided. Key Responsibilities

Prepare specifications and technical details to fully define performance of equipment, materials and services Diagnose PLC and IPC control level issues using CODESYS, Python, and Studio 5000 Define and measure system performance KPIs using industry‑standard PackML Enforce industrial network security requirements Manage change requests and develop PLC ladder/structured text code changes Analyze and test existing and new engineering solutions and components Coordinate with IT, FC Software, vendors and Operations Engineering for new MHE deployments Undertake industrial engineering design on existing and new material handling systems worldwide Create technical documentation such as flow diagrams, conveyor and equipment layouts, installation details, and integration specifications Support commissioning of new automation elements and designs Participate in local or worldwide network‑level control projects and initiatives Provide value engineering and value analysis Ensure compliance with all health and safety procedures, and proactively raise potential H&S issues Use AutoCAD to review, develop, and maintain electrical schematics and conveyor layout drawings Understand and adhere to industry operating standards such as the NEC and NFPA Support simulation models of material handling systems Maintain system and equipment configuration documentation in the global project repository Build effective relationships with all FC stakeholders Conduct post go‑audit reviews to determine best practices with fulfillment center stakeholders Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, engineering technology, or equivalent At least 2 years of industrial controls and automation experience Experience designing or implementing integrated automation solutions such as material handling systems, high‑speed packaging lines, or manufacturing lines Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, Outlook) Experience with one or more CAD technologies (AutoCAD, Rhino, Revit, SolidWorks, CREO, BIM360, SketchUp, or KeyShot) Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and robotics in a manufacturing environment Preferred Qualifications

Experience with advanced automation controls systems Experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment Experience building and operating highly available, distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large data sets Benefits
