Azure Power BI Consultant Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and semantic models. Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable data models.

Responsibilities

Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) across diverse sources using Azure Fabric pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Lakehouse/Table formats.

Optimize dataset performance, gateway configurations, DAX calculations, and report responsiveness.

Implement row-level security (RLS), workspace governance, version control, and user access management.

Ensure data accuracy, validation, and QA across reports and datasets.

Provide training and support to business users on Power BI and Azure analytics capabilities.

Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate Power BI solutions with the broader Azure data ecosystem.

Required Skills

Strong proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, and Power Query (M).

Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, Notebooks, Dataflows Gen2).

Solid understanding of the Azure ecosystem: Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Azure Synapse, Azure Active Directory, and Purview (Data Governance).

Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational and analytical databases.

Ability to leverage Python within Power BI and Azure Fabric for advanced data processing, automation, and statistical analysis.

Experience with data modeling, data warehousing principles, and dimensional modeling (Star/Snowflake).

Knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, and enterprise BI best practices.

Familiarity with SharePoint, Git, DevOps pipelines, and CI/CD for BI assets.

Nice to Have

Experience with Investment / Asset Management datasets (trades, holdings, performance, risk, fund accounting).

Experience with R, advanced analytics, or machine learning notebooks within Fabric.

Exposure to Power Automate, Dataverse, or broader Power Platform capabilities.
