William Charles Construction, a MasTec Company, is hiring for an experienced Chief Estimator with extensive estimating background with heavy civil, highways and roadways.

Civil Heavy Highway Estimator duties include providing accurate takeoff and cost estimates for heavy highway roadway including earthwork, aggregates, underground and paving.

This position is ideally based in one of our local offices: Rockford IL, Indianapolis IN or Springfield, IL.

Responsibilities

Tracking of internal / external projects or client opportunities and pulling together the monthly opportunities (pipeline) report.

Oversee / support / perform RFP responses to include:

Work with Power Group Director of Operations to develop project plan RFP submittals

Procurement of materials

Oversee / support / perform project controls to include:

All project tracking, change management

All development / issuance / tracking / responses related to project submittals

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction Management and related field experience

Minimum 15 years of experience in heavy civil estimating. A combination of equivalent education and work experience may be considered

Extensive experience with earthwork and underground is required, PCC paving and concrete knowledge is a plus

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Highly knowledgeable in earthwork, underground drainage, sewer, watermain and general roadway construction.

Precise attention to details and exceptionally organized

Highly motivated self-starter

Must be capable managing time for self and ability to prioritize and schedule efficiently

Limited travel will be required for pre-bids, site walks, owner meetings, home office, etc.

Thrive in fast-paced environment with ability to deliver under deadlines

Proficient in Bid2Win or similar estimating software and exceptional Microsoft Office skills; Primavera P6, Bluebeam and AutoCad experience is a plus

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
