What To Expect As a Collision Tools and Equipment Specialist, you will bridge the gap between collision repair requirements and the tooling solutions we deliver globally. This role focuses on researching, validating, and influencing tool design to meet Tesla’s repair standards. You will work closely with engineering teams and strategic suppliers to ensure collision‑specific needs are integrated into equipment programs, enabling technicians from both Tesla owned and third‑party body shops to perform safe, accurate repairs across all Tesla models using equipment such as welders, frame benches, paint booths, fixturing systems, and material handling tools.

Responsibilities

Partner with engineering and technical teams to test, validate, and standardize equipment for global collision operations.

Manage project schedules, perform ROI analysis, forecast demand, and ensure cost‑effective solutions for tools and equipment in collision.

Track tools and equipment performance using KPIs, scorecards, and reporting to ensure quality and compliance.

Provide technical support to field teams and internal stakeholders on equipment use and best practices.

Resolve supplier issues related to technical, operational, or billing concerns.

Coordinate cross‑functional projects using Tesla tools to track timelines and communicate updates.

Qualifications

Background in collision repair, tools/equipment, business, or related field (collision experience is a major plus).

Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

Advanced computer skills to support efficient workflow, data analysis, and presentation creation.

Proven ability to manage multi‑workstream projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver results in fast‑paced environments.

Ability to work and communicate with a wide variety of cross‑functional teams and external partners locally and globally.

Strong communication skills, able to clearly convey information and adapt tone and detail for technical and non‑technical audiences.

Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, obtain Tesla forklift certification if needed, and travel as required.

Expected Compensation $80,000 – $150,000 per year + cash and stock awards + benefits. Pay may vary depending on multiple individualized factors such as market location, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
