Edison Smart are partnered with a growing mission critical business in the US. We’re looking for 5 x
Senior Commissioning Engineers (Mechanical or Electrical)
to join their growing team, supporting the delivery of data center projects throughout the US.
We’re looking for individuals located in the US who can travel 75% plus. This position requires travel to several project sites.
Key Responsibilities
Lead commissioning activities for electrical, mechanical, and controls systems on major data center projects
Develop and execute commissioning plans, test procedures, scripts, and documentation
Perform site inspections, equipment start-up, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and performance verification
Identify deficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate corrective actions
Collaborate closely with design engineers, project managers, contractors, and client teams
Produce detailed commissioning reports and maintain accurate project records
Ensure compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and safety protocols
Mentor junior commissioning staff and support knowledge development across the team
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field (or equivalent experience)
7+ years of commissioning experience, preferably within data centers or mission-critical facilities
Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems, electrical power distribution, UPS, generators, BMS/EPMS, and cooling technologies
Demonstrated ability to lead commissioning projects from planning through closeout
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
Ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple stakeholders
Willingness and ability to travel up to
75%
across the U.S.
Preferred Certifications
CxA, BCxP, PE, EIT, PMP, or equivalent industry credentials
Familiarity with ASHRAE commissioning guidelines and data center best practices
