POSITION TITLE: District Manager
DEPARTMENT: Operations
REPORTS TO: Regional Director
SALARY RANGE: $85,000 – $98,500 Base Salary + Bonus Eligibility ($1,750 per month in bonus sale opportunity)
LOCATION: Chicago, IL
FLSA: Exempt

We are looking for an energetic, diligent, and organized leader with a take‑charge personality and a reputation for getting things done. As a District Manager, you will manage and direct operations at several locations within your assigned region. Your job will involve travel between locations and building a team of results‑driven, culture‑based club leaders. You will wake up every day with a clean slate and the opportunity to win again.
Key Deliverables
Drive pace, financial performance, and consistency across all clubs in the district.
Manage operational goals, objectives, and priorities for all General Managers (GMs) to achieve financial results (e.g., member growth, revenue, profit, and retention).
Oversee the district's operating budget and approve discretionary expenditures within set guidelines.
Lead the hiring and development of the district team, with a strong focus on club leadership positions.
Ensure managers create and maintain an UPLIFT culture at all clubs.
Management & Leadership Responsibilities
Provide consistent accountability for direct reports through training, coaching, planning sessions, and performance reviews.
Hold GMs accountable for delivering results and meeting budget expectations.
Partner with GMs, HR, and recruiters to find and hire new management.
Lead and facilitate succession planning and talent review processes.
Set the example for providing exceptional member satisfaction and team member engagement.
Communicate, lead by example, and motivate the district to understand and develop passion toward the brand, values, and strategy.
Resolve the most difficult escalated member concerns.
Work collaboratively with regional and corporate departments to support company initiatives.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
3-4 years of progressive management experience supervising 50+ total employees (10‑20 per shift).
4-6 years of broad retail, hospitality, or service industry experience.
Comparable multi‑unit management experience preferred.
Prior experience in one or more fitness club departments is a plus.
Proven operations management and sales experience.
Strong financial planning knowledge and understanding of P&L statements.
Ability to work at a fast pace while prioritizing and multi‑tasking effectively.
Proficiency in sales, marketing, and operations plans.
A passion for fitness is required.
Must be able to travel by car and airplane up to 80% of the time.
Ability to work a varied schedule, including extended workdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
