Civil Rights Defense Litigation Attorney Base pay range: $150,000 - $200,000 per year.

Our well‑known law firm is seeking a seasoned Civil Rights Defense Litigation Attorney to join our team. This permanent position is ideal for an experienced attorney passionate about civil rights with a proven record in litigation. The successful hire will contribute to high‑profile cases, advocate for justice, and collaborate with a dynamic legal team.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal defense representation to clients alleging civil rights violations, including discrimination based on race, sex, religion, age, disability, and other protected characteristics.

Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case development and litigation strategy.

Draft, review, and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and appeals.

Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients in mediation and other dispute resolution proceedings.

Advocate for clients in court proceedings, presenting compelling arguments and evidence.

Stay updated on developments in civil rights law and apply this knowledge to benefit clients.

Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, helping them understand their rights and options.

Participate in community outreach and education activities focused on civil rights.

Qualifications:

Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Licensed to practice in the applicable state; passed the bar exam.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in civil rights litigation with a strong track record of successful outcomes.

Extensive mediation experience and strong negotiation skills.

In‑depth knowledge of federal and state civil rights laws, court procedures, and rules of evidence.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with ability to develop effective litigation strategies.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.

High level of professionalism and ethical standards.

Team player capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
