Position Overview The PR Director will manage all aspects of public relations and media strategy, including media strategy development, agency management, press release creation, and crisis communications. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing PR campaigns, building strong media relationships, and effectively handling crisis situations.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive media strategy that aligns with the company's goals and objectives.

Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging issues to adjust the media strategy as needed.

Track and analyze media coverage and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

Agency Management

Oversee and manage relationships with external PR and media agencies.

Set clear goals and KPIs for agencies and ensure they are met within budget.

Monitor agency performance and provide feedback for improvement.

External Placement

Identify and cultivate relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.

Secure media coverage through proactive outreach and pitching of company stories and initiatives.

Coordinate and execute media interviews and appearances for company executives.

Press Release Creation

Draft compelling and well-crafted press releases, news articles, and other media materials.

Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and data necessary for press releases.

Ensure press releases are distributed to relevant media outlets and stakeholders.

Crisis Communications

Develop and implement crisis communication plans to effectively manage and mitigate any potential PR crises.

Serve as the primary spokesperson during crisis situations and manage media inquiries.

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging and timely responses.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.

Proven experience in PR and media management, industry experience a plus.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in media monitoring and analytics tools.

Demonstrated ability to build and maintain media relationships.

Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

Creative and strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities for media coverage.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams.

Strong crisis communication skills with a track record of effectively managing PR crises.
