Overview Engineer Sr., Power Plant System

– Carnival Corporation

Responsibilities The Senior PowerPlantSystemEngineer ensures the precision, integrity, and reliable operation of onboard fuel measurement systems across the Carnival Corporation fleet and oversees in‑house information systems that support critical organizational functions and strategic decision making.

Fuel Measurement Systems – Oversee performance, calibration, and reliability of onboard fuel monitoring systems to ensure accurate consumption tracking and reporting.

Onboard Marine System Integration & Optimization – Maintain and optimize data accuracy, supporting automation, technical drawings, and documentation workflows.

Main Engine Performance – Support and actively contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing main engine efficiency and operational performance.

Technology Implementation – Support the deployment of new technologies, including advanced fuel efficiency monitoring tools and remote diagnostics systems.

Othertechnical activities to support the asset management team.

Project management and Onboard Activities – Create, modify, analyze, and collaborate on project preparation, new integration standardization, budgeting, and cost control.

Support onboard reliability of instruments – Recommend actions for corrective and preventive maintenance.

Train shipboard crew about specific equipment to improve alertness and maximize use of installed assets.

Perform remote monitoring and engage Ship and Brands technical operations structure.

Provide technical guidance and assistance to other IS Engineers and IS Administrators.

Document complex procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks software and hardware.

Analyze data performance and support with new KPIs to evaluate ROI and savings.

Engage with development and discuss new technology and green solution applications – prototype, pilots and testing to enhance performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in engineering or equivalent professional engineering license.

5+ years experience in systemsengineering.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Mechanical andElectronic troubleshooting aptitude.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.

Shipboard, land‑based powerplantorOEMexperiencepreferred.

Physical Demands

Mustbeyobtain in a stationary position at a deskand/or computerfortextendedperiodsof time.

Travel

25‑50%with shipboardtravellikely.

Work Conditions

Workmayrequireemployee toworkinsideand/oroutsidewithexposure tochangingclimateand/oroperatemachinery.
