Corporate Controller About the Company Our Client is a rapidly growing, $1B industrial services organization committed to operational excellence, innovation, and strategic expansion through organic growth and acquisitions. Headquartered in Atlanta, they serve customers domestically and internationally with a focus on safety, reliability, and high-quality service delivery. As they continue to scale, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Corporate Controller to strengthen their financial infrastructure and support their continued growth.

Position Summary The Corporate Controller will be a key member of the finance leadership team, responsible for overseeing all aspects of corporate accounting, financial reporting, technical accounting, internal controls, and accounting operations across the enterprise. The ideal candidate brings a strong accounting foundation, proven leadership capability, and demonstrated experience supporting a growing, acquisitive organization. This role will drive process improvement, system enhancements, and best‑in‑class financial discipline, partnering closely with the CFO and executive leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, cost accounting, fixed assets, accounts payable, and payroll accounting.

Lead the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.

Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and supporting schedules.

Ensure consistent application of accounting policies across all business units.

Leadership & Team Development

Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing team of 15 across corporate accounting and shared services.

Foster a culture focused on accuracy, continuous improvement, accountability, and collaboration.

Structure the team for scale as the company continues to grow both organically and through acquisition.

Acquisitions & Integrations

Partner with Corporate Development and Business Unit leadership to support financial due diligence and accounting assessments for potential acquisitions.

Lead post‑acquisition accounting integration, including system alignment, policy harmonization, and opening balance sheet procedures.

Ensure timely and accurate purchase accounting, including valuation and fair‑value assessments.

Internal Controls & Compliance

Strengthen and maintain internal control frameworks, including policies, processes, and documentation.

Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring high‑quality responses and timely completion.

Manage tax, compliance, and statutory reporting in partnership with internal and external advisors.

Process Improvement & Systems Optimization

Assess current processes and systems to identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and standardization.

Lead initiatives to modernize accounting workflows, improve data integrity, and enhance transparency.

Partner with IT and Operations to ensure financial systems support business needs, especially as the company scales.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Serve as a key business partner to Operations, HR, IT, Supply Chain, and Corporate Development.

Provide financial insights and decision support to the CFO and broader leadership team.

Communicate complex financial information to executives in a clear and actionable manner.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.

10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Experience in industrial services, construction, utilities, or related multi‑location service businesses strongly preferred.

Strong technical accounting knowledge (U.S. GAAP).

Hands‑on experience supporting acquisitions and leading integrations.

Proven success improving processes, implementing systems, or transforming accounting teams.

Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
