Position Responsibilities
Act as principal custodian of power and natural gas market models (capacity expansion, production cost, storage, reliability, revenue requirement).
Perform quantitative consulting tasks: develop market scenarios and assumptions, evaluate new energy technologies, calculate LCOEs, run market simulations, and interpret results.
Manage and contribute to engagements involving integrated resource plans, commercial due diligence, reliability & RTO assessments, and other sector analysis.
Support the development of industry‑leading models through research, analysis, programming, and vetting in reliability, resource adequacy, storage, and EV/DER penetration.
Develop and present concise, comprehensive reports and presentations to senior‑ and mid‑level client staff.
Oversee junior staff in production of reports, presentations, and market analyses.
Desired Qualifications
Minimum two years of professional experience in power and/or natural gas market modeling with tools such as AURORAxmp, PLEXOS, PROMOD, and Encompass.
Previous project and client management experience.
Strong interest in and knowledge of power and natural gas market modeling.
Excellent presentation and writing skills.
Strong problem‑solving abilities and resourcefulness.
Team orientation and willingness to mentor junior staff.
Located in Boston or Washington, DC; hybrid work environment acceptable.
