Position Responsibilities
Act as a principal custodian of the Energy practice’s power and natural gas market models, including capacity expansion, production cost, storage, reliability, and revenue requirement models.
Perform a broad range of quantitative consulting tasks such as developing power and gas market scenarios, evaluating new energy technologies, calculating LCOEs, and running market simulations.
Manage and contribute to engagements involving utility integrated resource plans, commercial due diligence of power plants and energy infrastructure, reliability and RTO assessments, and other power and gas sector analysis.
Support the development of industry‑leading models through research, analysis, programming, and model vetting in areas such as reliability (LOLE), resource adequacy (ELCC), storage, and EV/DER penetration.
Develop presentations and reports to concisely, comprehensively, and accurately share findings with clients on complex matters.
Present to senior‑ and mid‑level staff of clients.
Oversee junior staff in the production of reports, presentations, and market analyses.
Desired Qualifications
Minimum two years of professional experience in power and/or natural gas market modeling using tools such as AURORAxmp, PLEXOS, PROMOD, and Encompass.
Previous project and client management experience.
Strong interest in and knowledge of power and natural gas market modeling.
Excellent presentation skills and writing ability.
Strong problem‑solving abilities and resourcefulness.
Works well in a team environment and willing to provide mentorship to junior staff members.
Can be located in Boston or Washington, DC; hybrid working environment.

Salary And Other Compensation A good‑faith estimate of the annual base salary range for this position is $130,000 – $152,500. Pay may vary based on education, experience, skills, geography, market conditions, and other factors. The position may be eligible for additional bonus incentive compensation.
