Physician (Family Medicine) – GP‑0602‑14 Temecula Naval Health Clinic, Riverside County, Temecula, CA

Overview The Defense Health Agency is seeking a board‑certified Family Medicine Physician to provide primary and specialty medical care to active‑duty personnel, their dependents, eligible Navy civilian employees, and other authorized beneficiaries at the Temecula Naval Health Clinic.

Responsibilities

Provides primary care and performs comprehensive medical assessments for active‑duty personnel, dependents, eligible Navy civilian employees, and other beneficiaries.

Formulates full treatment plans based on evaluation, diagnosis, and evidence‑based guidelines; coordinates with facility and community resources to provide multidisciplinary care.

Conducts sub‑specialty services within current granted privileges, applies new procedures and techniques, and conducts research to advance the Family Medicine program and quality improvement.

Provides emergency, crisis intervention, and life‑saving procedures; promotes preventive care and health maintenance through education and counseling.

Determines assessments of fitness and suitability for duty, and provides advice to physicians, non‑physician providers, and other staff on urgent and non‑urgent medical problems.

Serves on professional medical staff, committees, and boards; evaluates patient care, identifies opportunities for improvement, and participates in quality assurance, performance‑improvement, risk‑management, and peer‑review programs.

Develops guidelines, training, medical policy, and standard‑of‑care determinations; participates in continuing education, national conferences, and faculty duties for the Family Medicine Residency Program, including training, mentoring, supervising residents, and teaching didactics.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

US Citizenship required.

Degree:

Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a U.S. or Canadian school accredited by the AMA, AAMC, LCME, COCA, or the U.S. Department of Education. Equivalent foreign medical school degrees must be proven by MEPI, ECFMG, or the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.

Board certification:

Must possess and maintain board certification in Family Medicine by a nationally recognized board.

Licensure:

Current, active, full, and unrestricted license to practice as a physician in the U.S. state, DC, Puerto Rico, or U.S. territory.

Graduate training:

At least one year of supervised clinical experience (internship or first year of residency) after graduation.
