client. This strategic role defines and implements the customer's data and AI strategies by contributing to architectural artifacts, data modeling, metadata management, and governance practices. The Architect ensures that all data and AI initiatives, including the evolution of Large Language Models (LLMs), align rigorously with Enterprise Architecture and Data Management policies within a hybrid work environment near Laurel, MD.

Base pay range $120,000.00/yr - $180,000.00/yr
Job Responsibilities
Design and maintain robust logical and conceptual data models, including the creation of data flow diagrams, data dictionaries, and canonical data models
Support data integration and the evolution of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) within the organization's Enterprise Architecture
Develop CDMs (Conceptual Data Models), LDMs (Logical Data Models), and translate physical schemas into LDMs in support of a comprehensive Data Registry
Collaborate closely with stakeholders, enterprise architects, and system owners to identify data requirements and align them with enterprise standards
Provide technical advice and architectural guidance on advanced technologies, including AI, Machine Learning, High Performance Computing, and containerization
Support metadata and master data management initiatives and provide guidance for data sharing, interoperability, and data quality best practices
Develop and document data and technical-related policies, standards, and procedures, ensuring compliance with federal requirements
Requirements Education
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Engineering/Science, Data Science, or a related field is required (Equivalent work experience considered)
Experience
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or enterprise data design is required
Minimum of five (5) years of experience working with AWS and MS Azure enterprise data and AI/ML solutions is required
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the use of AI/ML models and LLMs, with exposure to model training, is required
Hands-on experience designing and maintaining conceptual and logical data models is mandatory
Experience working with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MongoDB) is required
Experience integrating disparate data sources and supporting data modernization initiatives is required
Certifications/Licenses
Must have US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD clearance if necessary
Certifications such as CDMP, TOGAF, and Cloud certifications are preferred
Knowledge of federal data strategy and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FISMA) is preferred
Skills
Practical experience in the development and documentation of data-related policies, standards, and procedures
Strong ability to prepare and conduct customer presentations and briefings
Understanding of enterprise data domains, healthcare data standards, or government data governance practices is preferred
Familiarity with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., FEAF, DODAF) and data modeling/ETL tools is preferred
