Base pay range $118,875.00/yr - $198,125.00/yr

Responsibilities

Create and optimize scanning electron microscopy (SEM) recipes, including image acquisition settings and defect detection algorithms, develop best‑known methods tailored to diverse customer needs.

Apply existing product features to solve challenging customer cases, identify product gaps and improvement directions as needed.

Collaborate with product team on new (algorithm) feature study and development, test and validate prototype using in-house and customer data before product release.

Engage with customer on new production introduction, develop new use cases together with customer.

Support customer as a second‑line technical resource for field engineers, helping resolve complex customer issues.

Education Ph.D. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related areas.

Experience

Minimal 2-3 years of research or hands‑on development experience in image processing or related areas.

Hands‑on experience in scanning electron microscopy is a great plus.

Understanding in key process steps of Logic/DRAM/NAND device is a big plus.

Experience in optimization/numerical simulation/mathematical modeling/machine learning is a plus.

Any knowledge in IC design, lithography, and process control is a good plus.

Personal Skills

Strong problem analysis/solving and innovative thinking skills.

Independent deep‑div and troubleshooting on challenging problems.

Ability to work independently and also effectively as a member of a team.

Intermediate/advanced software programming skills in any of following: Python, Matlab, C/C++.

Quick learner and flexibility are key attributes, good sense in priority handling and multiple tasks.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Location: San Jose, CA
