A leading healthcare policy consulting firm is seeking a highly experienced Medicare policy professional to join its growing team as a Senior Consultant. The firm partners with clients across the health sector – including providers, payers, and life sciences organizations – to navigate complex federal policy, regulatory, and strategic issues. Its work sits at the intersection of policy, strategy, and government engagement, helping organizations anticipate and respond to developments that shape the Medicare landscape.
The Senior Consultant, Medicare Policy and Strategy will serve as both a strategic advisor and business leader within the firm. This role involves providing expert consulting support on Medicare policy, operations, and legislative developments, while also helping to expand client relationships and new business opportunities.
The successful candidate will bring a strong record of leadership in federal health policy, deep Medicare expertise, and the ability to translate government experience into meaningful guidance for clients. This position is ideal for an experienced professional seeking to apply their policy and program background in a dynamic consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide high-level consulting services on Medicare programs, coverage, payment, and regulatory policy.
Advise clients on strategic positioning, policy implications, and engagement with federal agencies.
Lead and contribute to client projects, including policy analyses, strategy development, and executive briefings.
Build and maintain relationships with clients, identifying opportunities to expand partnerships and new areas of work.
Support business development efforts through proposal development, client outreach, and participation in meetings and industry forums.
Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to shape service offerings and strengthen the firm’s Medicare-focused portfolio.
Qualifications
At least 15 years of specialized experience in federal government roles focused on Medicare policy, coverage, payment, or related program areas.
Deep understanding of federal policymaking, legislative, and implementation processes.
Proven ability to engage clients and drive business development efforts.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with credibility among both government and private-sector stakeholders.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
Prior consulting or advisory experience strongly preferred.
