A leading manufacturer of high-performance specialty materials is seeking a
General Manager of Manufacturing
to oversee operations at a major production facility. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving excellence across safety, quality, delivery, and cost, while fostering a culture of accountability, employee engagement, and operational clarity. The position carries full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility and includes direct oversight of department managers and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic and operational leadership to multiple manufacturing departments through senior-level managers.
Execute business plans aligned with corporate objectives, contributing to broader functional strategies.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, on-time delivery, and cost performance.
Lead culture transformation efforts that support high accountability and positive employee engagement across all levels.
Manage and resolve matters related to collective bargaining agreements and union relations.
Ensure full compliance with workplace safety, environmental standards, and community engagement expectations.
Allocate resources effectively to meet production goals and financial targets.
Remove organizational and operational roadblocks to improve efficiency and responsiveness.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a management or leadership capacity.
Proven ability to manage complex operations with measurable success in operational performance and team development.
Preferred Qualifications
Broad business and leadership expertise across multiple operational functions.
Financial and strategic planning experience, including budgeting and resource management.
In-depth understanding of industrial and manufacturing processes, standards, and best practices.
Familiarity with structured problem-solving methodologies and continuous improvement frameworks.
Demonstrated success in managing union relationships and promoting positive employee relations.
