Role and Responsibilities
As the Senior Director of Product Operations, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational execution of product launches, content, merchandising, and go‑to‑market initiatives across Samsung's global business units. With a relentless focus on excellence, you will influence & collaborate with Global direct‑to‑consumer (DTC), business, and marketing teams to develop and execute industry‑leading rich media content strategies that deliver measurable business impact. Reporting to the Head of Product, this role will lead a world‑class content and product launch operation team to deliver best‑in‑class merchandising experience of discovering and purchasing Samsung products and services via product, brand and lifestyle augmentation stories. Lead the end‑to‑end content product lifecycle coverage including new product launches across all lines of businesses and other key moments that require new development based on business needs and also own the tools, further automation and process optimization roadmap across systems such as CMS, DAM and PIM.
Key Responsibilities
Content Strategy & Innovation
– Develop and lead overall vision and strategy for merchandising and product launch operations; implement content strategies to hyper‑personalize (1:1) product experiences; partner with brand marketing & tech teams to build content frameworks that improve conversion rates; integrate Generative AI tools to enhance rich media creation and dynamic merchandising; set and continuously refine operation strategy and workflows to deliver on quarterly and yearly business and product goals and KPI targets. New Product Launch Excellence
– Streamline launch processes to accelerate time‑to‑market through efficient workflows; program‑manage new device launches with all cross‑functional teams across all lines of businesses; drive product adoption and sales through targeted content strategies and compelling storytelling. Performance‑Driven Content Operations
– Champion the use of market insights, key online retail trends and shopper insights to drive decision‑making and innovation across merchandising strategy and tactics; define and track key KPIs including content engagement rates, page continuation and conversion lift; optimize site merchandising performance through continuous testing and data‑driven insights; deliver revenue growth during key driver periods through strategic content planning. Operational Leadership & Business Acumen
– Enhance catalog accuracy through proposed SKU management system enhancements and continuous process improvements; improve operational efficiency through automation and process optimization; manage budgets and resource allocation to maximize ROI on content investments; align merchandising assortments across all line‑of‑businesses within the division and across, ensuring no duplication or conflict; lead seasonal investment strategy to meet financial targets. Program Management & Operational Excellence
– Establish and manage a structured intake process to prioritize and streamline content requests across teams; implement scalable program management frameworks to optimize team throughput and resource allocation; develop and monitor capacity planning models to balance workload across content production teams; align rollout of Samsung’s new products, marketing and sales efforts; drive cross‑functional alignment through regular plan reviews and stakeholder meetings. Vendor & Agency Management
– Oversee end‑to‑end vendor relationships for creative services, including contract negotiations, SOW development and performance management; establish and manage SLAs with creative agencies and production partners; lead cost negotiations to ensure optimal value and ROI for content production budgets; implement vendor evaluation frameworks for continuous improvement. Cross‑functional Collaboration
– Partner with Suwon business leadership to develop high‑impact content for seasonal campaigns; work with team leads to create and execute content programs that showcase Samsung’s UVP; act as a key liaison among product, engineering, marketing, sales, finance, legal, HR and other leadership teams to deliver key business requests and expand content production, engagement, relevance and revenue growth. Team Leadership & Development
– Build and lead a high‑performing, diverse team of content strategists and operations specialists; foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement; develop career growth frameworks for program managers, strategists and ops specialists; empower the team to own business objectives. – Ensure all content meets legal, regulatory, and brand standards; implement quality control processes to maintain consistency across all digital touchpoints.
Key Requirements
Strategic & Operational Expertise
15+ years of experience in product operations, content strategy, or digital merchandising 8+ years in leadership roles with P&L responsibility Proven ability to align content strategy with business goals and drive measurable outcomes Build scalable operation capabilities – defining requirements, setting SLAs, improving workflows and partnering with LOB’s, engineering and global teams to enhance content platforms.
Vendor Management Expertise
Extensive experience managing creative agencies and vendor relationships Strong contract negotiation skills with proven ability to optimize costs Experience developing and managing SOWs for creative services
Technical Proficiency
Prior Product and Program management experience along with Content & Product Operations Hands‑on experience with PIM systems, CMS tools and BI platforms Strong understanding of e‑commerce technologies and digital workflow optimization Preferred – Gen AI tools leveraged in recent roles
Leadership & Collaboration
Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing C‑level executives Track record of building and scaling high‑performing teams
Industry Knowledge & Other Skills
Deep expertise in consumer electronics or retail, with a focus on omnichannel experiences Excellent communications and organizational skills, with the ability to clearly articulate vision, strategy, tactics to achieve results to different levels of audiences. Have put eCommerce at the center of omnichannel brand story through product passion, merchandising expertise and visual presentation customer lifestyle stories in recent experiences at global scale. Have latest knowledge of digital consumer shopping behavior and trends and understands how technology influences and enables frictionless ecommerce.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
Skills and Qualifications
Salary range: $278,000 – $343,500. Actual pay will be determined based on relevant skills and experience.
