Overview
NURSE PD - Department: EC Pre Op. Per Diem APPOINTMENT. Worksite: East Campus Medical Center (Alvarado Road). Hiring Pay Scale: $86.55 / Hour. Appointment Percent: 20%. Total Openings: 1. Work Schedule: Days, 8 Hour Shifts, Monday - Friday. Filing Deadline: Mon 12/15/2025.
UC San Diego Health is a Magnet designated organization and emphasizes autonomous nursing care aligned with ANA Standards of Practice and Professional Performance. The nurse is expected to practice autonomously within interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches to patient care. All performance expectations are at the PRACTITIONER Level.
Responsibilities Autonomous nursing care based on competence, professional expertise, and knowledge to assess and provide appropriate nursing actions for patient care populations. Uphold performance expectations at the practitioner level.
Qualifications
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
RN License issued by the State of California.
BLS/CPR and ACLS certifications at time of hire with commitment to obtain ART within six (6) months of hire date.
1 year minimum preop experience.
Demonstrate UCSD Core Values (Quality, Caring, Integrity, Creativity, Teamwork).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing for all levels of audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Pre Op/Stepdown/DOU/ICU experience preferred.
BSN
Acute care experience preferred.
Phase 2 and Pre-Anesthesia Appointment experience preferred.
Special Conditions
Per diem shift requirement is an average of 1 shift per week and must be available for 1 major holiday. This is subject to change based on department needs.
Must be able to work various hours, days, shifts, and locations based on the 24-hour Medical Center's business needs.
Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
Pay and Benefits Pay Transparency Act: Annual Full Pay Range: $180,716 - $180,716 (prorated if appointment percentage
