Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP)
The
Speech‑Language Pathologist (SLP)
will assess, develop, and provide speech, language, and feeding/swallowing services to preschool and school‑age students. You will design therapy programs tailored to each child’s communication needs while supporting classroom success and meaningful social engagement.
Responsibilities
Screen, evaluate, and diagnose speech, language, and feeding/swallowing needs following ASHA guidelines.
Develop therapy goals and intervention strategies aligned with each student’s IEP and school philosophy.
Deliver direct and small‑group speech therapy using evidence‑based practices.
Maintain documentation, including evaluation reports, daily notes, progress summaries, and IEP updates.
Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, parent conferences, and professional consultations.
Assess the effectiveness of classroom language/communication strategies and collaborate with educators to support communication in academic settings.
Act as a child advocate and help support communication goals across home, school, and community environments.
Qualifications
Education:
Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.
Certification/License:
NYS Speech licensure and NYS Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped Certification (TSHH/TSSLD).
Experience:
Pediatric or school‑based experience preferred.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication, advocacy, collaboration, sound judgment, and ability to work effectively with children and multidisciplinary teams.
