Overview A Spokane-based, multi-entity heavy construction company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead a team of accounting professionals and serve as a strategic partner to the executive team. Our company manages federal, state, and private projects across the Pacific Northwest. As CFO, you will play a critical role in executive leadership—overseeing all financial operations and driving strategic initiatives to support growth and profitability in the civil construction sector. You’ll ensure seamless integration and optimization of financial systems, including estimating, project management, and accounting/ERP, payroll, while collaborating closely with project managers and key stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
Lead financial strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management for construction projects and job costing.
Build and mentor a high-performing accounting team.
Oversee and continuously improve accounting operations.
Partner with operations to ensure accurate bid preparation, job cost tracking, and margin optimization.
Deliver timely financial analysis and reporting to the President, ownership, and external partners.
Develop and monitor Key Performance Indicators to guide senior leadership.
Evaluate capital investments, financing options, growth initiatives, and operational improvements to strengthen financial health.

CPA, CMA, or MBA required.
