Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Silicon Photonics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead the design and development of advanced silicon photonics technologies, driving innovations in optical communications and computing. This role requires a deep understanding of photonics design and systems integration to enhance our product offerings and ensure successful project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of silicon photonics solutions for optical communication systems.
Conduct research and development in silicon waveguides, SOAs, and photodetector technologies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate photonics systems into larger architectures.
Drive the development of grating couplers and other critical components for silicon photonics applications.
Evaluate and optimize photonic designs for performance and manufacturability.
Mentor and guide junior engineers in photonics design and development best practices.
Qualifications
Ph.D. or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field with a focus on photonics.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in silicon photonics or a related area.
Proven track record of taking silicon photonic devices from concept through to commercial production using leading foundries.
Strong expertise in photonics design and optical communications.
Hands-on experience with waveguides, SOAs, photodetectors, and grating couplers.
Must have experience with modulator design.
Familiarity with systems integration and optical computing technologies.
