WSP is initiating a search for an Assistant Vice President, Transportation Planning for the Southern California geography. This is a key strategic role as we continue to strengthen and expand our transportation planning practice locally. WSP is playing a critical role in the growth and development throughout the state of California, working with public agencies such as the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Metropolitan Transportation Commission, Caltrain, cities of San Diego and Los Angeles, Southern California Association of Governments, and many others. Responsibilities

Manage local client coordination and support cross‑selling efforts in coordination with Local and Regional leadership and Pursuit Management. Attend civic and industry events, conferences, and forums such as WTS, APA, ACEC, Chamber of Commerce. Bring an expanded view and integrated response to complex challenges by leveraging our full suite of offerings across all end markets. Utilize our extended reach of technical and subject matter experts across regions, districts, offices, and the globe to foster new and innovative client delivery. Foster a work environment that is collaborative, values inclusion and diversity, and encourages broad, creative thinking. Emphasize employee training and development to create a unique work experience. Inspire, motivate and promote the best of WSP to our clients and communities to ensure strong employee engagement and morale. Support programs such as Safety, Sustainability and Ethics & Compliance. Optimize the client and employee experience through regular reviews while embracing process improvement. Focus on innovation and collaboration with a focus on maintaining and improving quality. In collaboration with Business Line Leaders, develop local growth, forecast, and business development strategy. Resolve conflict and other internal/external issues that may arise between staff, amongst WSP’s client base, or on projects. Coordinate with leads and specialists in other business lines and regions (particularly Transportation & Infrastructure) to engage in projects and pursuits and leverage a broader base of staff support. Collaborate with Local Business Lead and other area leaders to strategically drive the business, assess and suggest improvements for project performance, oversee overhead expenditures, and focus on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as Sales, Funding, EBITDA, Staff Hiring and Retention, DSO, Utilization, Backlog, Inclusion & Diversity, and Guiding Principles. Leverage our broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings. Foster the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry. Advise the region on sustained and continued growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan and the region’s location of responsibility. Encourage, support and promote the technical and professional development of local WSP staff. Track changes in federal environmental law and policy in coordination with specialists and evaluate implications for projects, pursuits, and staffing. Required Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Public Policy, or related discipline, or equivalent experience in the A/E/C industry with a focus on infrastructure projects. Experience with professional environmental services as a consultant or client, developing scopes of work, directing work, issuing or responding to RFPs or RFQs. Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, persistence, and growth. Ability to innovate and re‑think the conventional approach to client and employee engagement. Strong business acumen. Sound decision‑making, strategic and visionary thinking, and creative business development capabilities. Strongly established relevant client relationships and industry contacts in the local area, including ability to lead pursuits and proposals. Commitment to internal and external client service. Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Preferred Qualifications

Compensation

Expected Salary (all locations): $99,100 – $176,550. WSP reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, not related to protected status. About WSP
