Earth & Environment US Business Development Lead
WSP USA is seeking an Earth & Environment US Business Development Lead focused on sustainability and resilience services. The role may operate out of any mutually agreed office in the USA.
The candidate will direct the development and implementation of a growth strategy for private sector clients in climate risk, ESG, resilience, sustainability strategy, digital transformation, and climate finance. Key activities include outreach to existing and potential clients, collaborating with WSP account leaders across sectors, building alliances with partners and peers, amplifying the company’s brand in the marketplace, and participating in strategic sales. The position promotes WSP’s sustainability and resilience initiatives and collaborates with US operational leadership across all business lines, emphasizing client planning, industry knowledge sharing, and support for market development and sales.
The position reports directly to E&E’s US Development Director and works with leaders across the firm’s business lines for organic growth of the entire US business, modeling the company’s guiding principles around Clients, Expertise, People & Culture, and Operational Excellence.

Develops relationships with operational leadership and advises them of opportunities and resourcing needs.
Instigates cross‑business‑line teaming, coordination, and cross‑selling.
Expertise
Advances the strategic direction of the organization and positions WSP for sustained and continued growth consistent with the strategic plan.
Leverages broad technical experience to enhance current and new service offerings.
Fosters the development of new and emerging innovations to remain the trusted thought leaders in our industry.

Who You Are We’re looking for a driven yet empathetic leader with deep experience in the sustainability and resilience market. You should be able to navigate multi‑dimensional organizations, develop new relationships, and bring innovations into client solutions.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant technical field (Master’s preferred) and/or business management.
15+ years’ experience in the A/E/C industry, with national experience in the sustainability and resilience market.
Visible industry leader nationally in the sustainability and resilience marketplace with existing client and partner relationships and ability to develop new ones.
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement national and regional strategies that result in strategic investment and lead to organic growth.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to build pipeline of project opportunities, lead client engagement planning, and lead pursuit teams to successful sales.
Experience working with diverse and independent teams dispersed across the US.
Ability to successfully navigate multi‑dimensional organizations to bring new resources, innovations, ideas, and best practices to clients.
Demonstrated experience of leadership, personal accountability, and persistence.
Strong business acumen with an aptitude for improving processes and experience with change management.
Commitment to internal and external client service and broad knowledge of and experience with technical and project delivery.
Strong budget management / enterprise business aptitude.

Compensation Expected Salary (all locations): $175,400 - $320,900.
