Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is a tuition‑free open enrollment charter school for grades K1‑12 in Dorchester, serving over 800 students from diverse neighborhoods. Role Overview
The Speech and Language Specialist will work with elementary, middle, and high school students who have expressive and receptive language needs, phonological disorders, stuttering, hearing loss, and students diagnosed with Autism. You will assess needs, design plans, and collaborate with teachers across grades to support students’ linguistic success.
Schedule & Compensation
Monday‑Friday, 7:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Salary is based on experience; candidates with two years of experience and a master’s degree may earn about $67,500 annually.
Is this You?
Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology
At least two years of full‑time SLP experience, preferably in an urban education setting
Valid Massachusetts DESE license
Certificate of Clinical Competence, State Licensure, and at least an Initial Specialist License to work in schools

Mood of linguistic mindfulness and support for language‑disabled students
Dedication to the social‑emotional wellbeing of all scholars
