Role Overview The AVP IT Business Partner – Applications supports assigned business units by acting as the key liaison between IT and the business and leading the respective applications portfolio. Based in our Jersey City, NJ office on a hybrid basis, this role focuses on business needs, ensuring effective communication between business and IT teams, and leading a team to deliver technology solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary IT liaison for assigned business units, building strong relationships with stakeholders.
Understand business processes and day‑to‑day challenges to identify technology needs and improvement opportunities.
Assist in the development of business requirements, user stories, and functional specifications for IT solutions.
Facilitate regular touchpoints with business units to discuss IT service performance, upcoming initiatives, and pain points.
Lead a small team of technologists to manage, deliver and support an applications portfolio aligned to business needs and strategy.
Partner with IT teams to ensure business requirements are clearly communicated, prioritized, and delivered effectively.
Support project managers and technical teams during project execution to align outcomes with business expectations.
Monitor IT service performance and raise escalations when service levels are not met.
Coordinate user acceptance testing, training, and deployment activities for new solutions.
Oversee and manage the relevant controls environment applicable to the applications portfolio.
Translate technical concepts into business‑friendly language and ensure clear communication across stakeholders.
Provide updates to business units on IT initiatives, status reports, and issue resolution.
Advocate for business needs within IT while maintaining alignment with enterprise standards and governance.
Gather feedback to identify areas for process or service improvement, and recommend enhancements that increase efficiency, reduce manual work, or improve customer experience.
Stay aware of IT capabilities and tools to proactively suggest solutions that meet evolving business needs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in IT, business analysis, or IT service delivery.
Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to link them to technology solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, and supporting IT project delivery.
Collaboration:
Builds effective relationships with business users and IT colleagues.
Problem‑Solving:
Analyzes issues, proposes solutions, and supports implementation.
Communication:
Effectively translates between technical and business perspectives.
Customer Focus:

Compensation & Benefits The base salary range for this role is $165,000 USD – $190,000 USD, commensurate with experience. All employees are eligible for an annual bonus based on company and individual performance, and receive a generous benefits package.
