Job Summary The Director of Client Services plays a critical leadership role in driving business growth by identifying, evaluating, and securing high-priority business opportunities. This position is responsible for overseeing strategic marketing initiatives, managing client relationships, and leading the business development team to meet organizational goals. The Director will develop and implement marketing strategies, produce business development materials, maintain active client engagement, and deliver compelling proposals and presentations. This role will serve as a member on the Management Committee and will collaborate closely with department heads and executive leadership to align business pursuits with company objectives.

Essential Duties

Develop and manage the organization’s annual marketing plan and pursuit budgets

Recommend market strategies, potential areas for growth, and new policies or programs

Lead branding efforts and enhance CERM’s visibility across target markets

Oversee and enhance the company’s social media presence and reputation

Lead all outside and inside sales activities to include building strategic tools and related reporting mechanisms

Build and maintain strategic client and industry relationships to gather market intelligence and identify opportunities

Oversight management of client and prospect pre‑qualification and certification processes and procedures

Keep current on government regulatory agency guidelines and recommend policies and planning modifications to include recommendations for resources required for new and established market opportunities

Gather and establish procedures for regularly collecting information on potential business opportunities, from within the corporation and from external sources

Develop and deliver marketing and communications strategies for the organization

Maintain records on contacts and promotional efforts made personally and by others and follow up on business opportunities at appropriate intervals

Oversee the preparation and periodically review of company collaterals (brochures, historical data, personnel resumes, etc.) for accuracy, effectiveness of presentation and update accordingly

Assign responsibility for proposal preparation and implement quality assurance protocol of all proposals before submittal to clients

Oversee development of presentations to potential clients

Organize and track corporate participation in technical, professional and association meetings

Prepare forecasts of prospective work for use by others in preparing work manpower requirements

Monitor company’s client portfolio to ensure client satisfaction is maintained by developing strategic planning and engagement tools to ascertain CERM’s Client Relationship Management performance on marketing engagements, programs, and projects

Oversight and ownership of the proposal management process providing governance and leadership concerning readiness, execution and proposal delivery

Required Skills

Proven track record of success in senior marketing roles by demonstrated ability to increase market share in terms of revenue, sales, account management and client development.

Must have project management skills to manage, track and communicate status of multiple projects and tasks

Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Must have demonstrated supervisory management skills

5‑10 years of experience in the technical services industry and managing marketing campaigns.

5‑10 years’ experience working with government contract proposals is desired

Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, MSWD, Excel and PowerPoint skills

Required Experience

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field with clearly demonstrated business acumen

Regularly participates in related industry organizations and conferences – preferably in a leadership and/or officer capacity

Licensures, Certifications, and Registrations

MBA a plus, not required

PMP Certification a plus, not required

Marketing Certifications a plus, not required

Physical Requirements

Requires the ability to exert light physical effort including, but not limited to, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling, etc. of objects and materials of light weight (generally 30 – 50 pounds and less)

May involve extended periods of time in a seated position and at a keyboard or workstation

Professional office

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

Willingness to travel extensively to various meetings and project sites
