Program Director - DFW Airport – Freese and Nichols
Join Freese and Nichols as a Program Director at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. You will manage all phases of initiated programs, including setup, general management, and close‑out. Freese and Nichols has been a trusted partner in the success of the DFW Facilities Program, supporting over 100 projects from planning to close‑out and helping solidify DFW’s position as the world’s second‑busiest airport.
This fully onsite role involves managing direct prime and sub‑consultant contracts, all FNI and sub‑consultant staff assigned to the program, and serving as an extension of the client’s staff to procure a quality project on time and within budget while reducing conflicts inherent in complex delivery systems.
Responsibilities
Lead and direct Facilities & Civil program delivery.
Prepare and deliver executive presentations.
Manage all staff (delivery, growth, coordination, communication, etc.).
Prioritize program needs and focus the delivery team.
Provide guidance and problem‑solving to the entire team.
Plan, guide, and lead the facilities program.
Prepare and deliver public presentations to client staff and constituents.
Develop Program Management plans, including work descriptions, detailed schedules, budgets, M/W/DBE plans, contact plans, public involvement plans, procurement plans, and construction management plans.
Oversee and implement design‑build projects.
Coordinate bidding processes and establish best‑value selection criteria.
Supervise all FNI resources and sub‑consultants on the program team.
Develop, monitor, and manage CPM schedules.
Track performance using earned‑value management techniques.
Communicate program information with client and team regularly.
Prepare written or graphic items for the client and assist in presentations.
Establish and enforce communication protocols for the program team.
Provide direction on design, construction, and contract document requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, building construction, construction management, or equivalent practical experience.
Professional Engineer or Registered Architect.
Certified Construction Manager or Project Management Professional.
10+ years of direct management in design or construction programs or capital improvement programs.
Demonstrated proficiency in design project management and construction contract administration.
Understanding of public‑sector procurement and municipal budgeting procedures.
Willingly travel as needed.
Ability to negotiate construction sites without assistance and work out of field offices.
Active participation in professional organizations and presentation of technical papers when appropriate.
