As the Sr. Electronics (PCB/PCBA) Supplier Quality Engineer, you will enable the Astranis supply chain to meet requirements by working directly with the most experienced suppliers and manufacturers of electronics, and Astranis Electrical Engineering expertise during the development phases of new technologies, production, and product qualifications. You will be the first point of contact to support supply chain escalations, author supplier qualification, workmanship, and inspection standards to customize and exceed Aerospace Industry standards.

Role

Onboarding and qualification of new suppliers – travel required to production sites

Qualification of new processes and products

Develop incoming inspection strategies and author incoming inspection procedures

Support product development and DFx reviews as manufacturing and quality representation

Lead non‑conformances and problem‑solving efforts to closure

Maintain documentation and traceability of electronics manufacturing

Requirements

B.S. or M.S. in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or similar

Over 10 years of experience as a Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Engineer, including 5+ years working closely with electronics manufacturing (components, harnesses, PCB, and PCBA)

Familiar with IPC‑A‑600, 610, and 620 Class 3 standards, IPC‑J‑STD‑001, and/or MIL‑STD

Experience on the production floor bringing up new products, production processes, and laying out quality inspections

Ability to author Astranis technical requirements (qualification and acceptance procedures, addendums, specifications, etc.) and provide feedback to the Electrical Engineering team’s designs to facilitate manufacturability and process robustness

Ability to maintain supplier scorecards, implement department metrics and efficient process flows, and support cross‑functional teams

Ability to sell Astranis image and mission across our existing supply chain and potential new commercial partners

Bonus

Experience working under ISO/TS 61949, AS9100, or ISO9001

Familiar with electronics supply chain

Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt

Familiar with electronics secondary processing (polymeric coating, cleaning, manual soldering, tinning, de‑golding, etc.)

Hands‑on experience reworking electronics, performing touch‑ups, or testing and inspection

Familiar with components up‑screening, TID and HDR testing

What we offer All our positions offer a compensation package that includes equity and robust benefits. Base pay is a single component of Astranis’s total rewards package, which may also include equity in the form of incentive stock options, high‑quality company‑subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance benefits, flexible PTO, 401(K) retirement, and free on‑site catered meals.

Astranis pay ranges are informed and defined through professional‑grade salary surveys and compensation data sources. The actual base salary offered to a successful candidate will additionally be influenced by a variety of factors including experience, credentials & certifications, educational attainment, skill level requirements, and the level and scope of the position.

USD $140,000 – $200,000
