Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Engineering Technology
10+ years of experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
Proficient in working with AutoCAD, ACADE, or Inventor
Experience in the design of substation physical structures, wiring, and controls
Risk‑aware and quality‑focused ability to comprehend and interpret safety codes, utility standards and regulations
Results‑driven and methodical, with expert‑level analytical and organizational skills, and a focus on solving problems that impact quality, budget, and risk
Leadership‑driven and results‑oriented, with a proven ability to manage cross‑functional collaboration, align teams, and ensure project success across disciplines
Exceptional communicator with proven ability to align teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and lead with transparency and clarity
Valid Driver’s License is required
Responsibilities
Direct/facilitate the design of high‑voltage substations (15 kV to 500 kV) using design software
Oversee the application of client standards and applicable design codes and specifications related to design requirements
Manage drawing development workflows and CAD‑based design operations, ensuring alignment with project goals, quality benchmarks, and team performance
Establish and support mentorship frameworks that promote team growth, skill development, and knowledge transfer
Own the QA/QC strategy for the department, manage risk, and ensure quality outcomes through governance, training, and performance metrics
Manage client relationships at a strategic level, aligning project delivery with business goals and ensuring long‑term partnership success
Manage and optimize task execution across teams, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget targets are met and exceeded
