DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform System Engineering activities primarily focused on Unmanned Aerial Systems.

Lead system engineering for one or more project efforts, including requirements development for design, development and integration.

Perform system analysis, generate requirements, and develop system architecture and designs.

Decompose and allocate stakeholder requirements to lower levels of specification while ensuring bi‑directional traceability.

Provide direction to and lead a team of low‑ to moderate‑experienced professional staff.

Support creation of test plans and manage integration, verification and validation through test phases.

Support research and development for proposals, white papers and action responses.

Elicit stakeholder needs, analyze and define requirements; allocate, decompose and trace them.

Assess system impacts based on functional analysis of proposed changes.

Provide guidance on conflicting design/development requirements and special requirements.

Resolve complex engineering problems through innovative processes and designs.

Interface effectively with internal and external personnel using strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.

Participate in technical reviews, meetings and system‑level integration events as a prime technical contact.

Employ standard System Engineering practices and methodologies using available tools and resources, such as: Requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)

Data management tools (e.g., SharePoint)

Documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and similar alternatives.

Develop and maintain engineering schedules and budgets for program tasks or subtasks.

Develop and present technical material for review and reporting at engineering meetings.

Job Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline, with progressive engineering experience: 9+ years for bachelor’s, 7+ years for master’s, 4+ years for PhD. Equivalent engineering experience may substitute education.

Extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory and practice with experience in project leadership.

Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in an evolving environment.

Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, enabling effective interface with other departments and professionals, and capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact.

Customer‑focused mindset, capable of formulating innovative plans to resolve advanced technical engineering problems.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Willingness to work extended hours as required.

Professional Engineering license and published work in professional journals, along with invitations to present at engineering symposiums, are desirable.

Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance is required.

Job Type: Full‑Time Salary Salary Range: $105,890 – $189,545
