Job Summary Serves as working supervisor of the Maintenance Department, performing all day‑to‑day maintenance duties to ensure NEXCOM Hospitality Group (NHG) standards are met. Conducts preventative maintenance, repairs, and alteration of NHG buildings and equipment. Works shift‑based, maintains maintenance office operations, guest services, housekeeping support, and communicates with all NHG personnel and chain of command regarding operations and guest issues.
Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises maintenance personnel performing interior and exterior functions throughout the buildings.
Trains associates using NHG training standards; schedules and assigns work; checks quality of work; monitors productivity; motivates staff and encourages development; prepares and verifies departmental payroll information.
Inspects rooms daily to ensure NHG standards; initiates work orders for required repairs and reviews them with the Maintenance Manager.
Handles all duties identified in Maintenance Worker and Maintenance Worker Lead position descriptions.
Ensures security of guests’ rooms and assigned pass keys, properly logs key usage and reports lost keys to the Maintenance Manager.
Maintains overall upkeep and cleanliness of NHG facilities and work area as required.
Responds to all guest requests concerning maintenance service and refers issues to the Maintenance Manager.
Manages departmental budget (guest supplies, linen, towels, labor, etc.); monitors monthly expenses; maintains inventory; places orders; records arrivals; keeps store rooms clean and orderly.
Ensures compliance with OSHA and NHG state and federal regulations.
Maintains control of keys and issuance; monitors associate uniform inventory, ensuring approved uniforms and name badges are worn and maintained.
Works under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and maintains continuity in the manager’s absence.
Keeps management apprised of work status, assignments, and advises on problem areas.
Carries out Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) policies and communicates support of these policies to subordinates.
Maintains a clean and safe environment.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Effort Required to stand, stoop, bend, and kneel in tiring and uncomfortable positions; frequently lifts and carries materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions Works inside and outside; exposed to dust, dirt, fumes, and soiling of hands and clothing. May be exposed to possible cuts and bruises.

Experience Requirements General Experience : One year of experience in general maintenance practices regarding buildings, grounds, fixtures, and equipment.
Substitution of Education for Experience : One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience (up to a high school diploma or GED).
Specialized Experience : Three years of general maintenance work involving trade practices such as carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, air conditioning, refrigeration, masonry, and related areas.
