– We seek a licensed Virginia attorney with 2+ years of experience in criminal, DWI, or traffic defense. The position offers the opportunity to take on a primary caseload of criminal and traffic matters while receiving mentorship in landlord‑tenant and personal injury cases.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in criminal and traffic cases, from consultation through trial and appeal.
Review discovery and conduct legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and related tools.
Draft motions, pleadings, briefs, and other legal documents with accuracy and clarity.
Negotiate plea agreements and settlements to achieve favorable outcomes.
Investigate case details, interview witnesses, and collaborate with investigators.
Stay current on statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to criminal defense.
Maintain accurate case files, documentation, and compliance with administrative requirements.
Assist with landlord‑tenant and personal injury tasks when needed.
Experience & Qualifications
Active Bar license in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Minimum 2 years of relevant legal experience (criminal/DWI/traffic strongly preferred).
Proven track record of court appearances, motion practice, and trial work.
Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
Strong legal writing skills with the ability to draft precise and persuasive documents.
Effective negotiation skills and professional courtroom presence.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in case management.
