Responsibilities

Plan, manage, and oversee construction management activities on small to medium routine construction projects or a single large project or multiple‑contract routine projects.

Direct day‑to‑day activities of construction representatives and construction coordinators on projects.

Become familiar with project contract documents and coordinate and control assigned activities, including critical path method (CPM), scheduling and claims administration.

Interpret plans and specifications for clients, contractors, and the company’s field personnel.

Identify and communicate project deficiencies, expected cost overruns, material issues, and any other related construction issues or risks within the area of oversight.

Prepare related reports (e.g., monthly progress reports) and maintain a daily report of construction activities; provide direction to shop drawing professionals to develop project‑related shop drawings.

Coordinate and disseminate shop drawings to project stakeholders as necessary.

Provide internal consultation to construction representatives and serve as a technical resource to other functional groups.

Review government or funding agency regulations to provide consultative services that reflect an up‑to‑date knowledge and understanding of legal requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree.

4 years of related experience.

Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience overseeing heavy civil construction projects, particularly those involving earthworks and concrete.

Skills and Abilities

Working knowledge of construction management processes, methods, and techniques.

Knowledge of construction products, details, relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.

Understanding of all facets of the construction process.

Good time and project management skills.

Ability to analyze, problem‑solve, and mitigate risks.
