Executive Recruiter, Accounting and Finance
CV Resources is partnering with a technology consulting firm in San Diego in search for an Accountant to join their finance team.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accurate recording of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and fixed assets.
Job/Project Costing
Financial Reporting: Understand monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow reports) in compliance with GAAP and DCAA standards.
Government Contract Compliance: Ensure adherence to DCAA and FAR requirements, including cost accounting standards (CAS).
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring timely transactions. Monitor aging reports and manage vendor relationships.
Payroll Processing: Administer payroll, including timekeeping, tax withholdings, and compliance with federal/state regulations. Coordinate with HR for benefits accounting.
Audit Support: Prepare documentation for DCAA audits, internal audits, and external reviews.
Cost Accounting: Track and allocate direct and indirect costs for government contracts, ensuring accurate cost reporting and contract compliance.
Tax Compliance: Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns, including 1099s, in coordination with external tax professionals.
Software Proficiency: Use accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Unanet) to manage financial data and generate reports, ensuring data integrity and system security.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Minimum of 5 years of full-cycle bookkeeping or accounting experience.
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Unanet).
Familiarity with payroll processing and tax compliance.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with teams, vendors, and auditors.
U.S. citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
At least 2 years supporting a DoD or government contractor.
Familiarity with government contract management systems (e.g., WAWF, SAM.gov).
Experience with government contract billing (Cost-Plus, Time & Materials, Fixed-Price contracts).
DCAA compliance, FAR, and CAS.
