Senior Accountant

Team Carney, Inc. Role and Responsibilities
Daily accounting functions including cost accounting, billing, accounts payable, general ledger, government reporting, bank reporting.
Full charge cost accounting: set up new projects, invoices, WAWF, customer systems, unbilled revenue analysis, reconciliations, contract closeouts.
Ensure sub‑ledgers equal general ledger balances (A/R billed/unbilled, revenue).
Maintain contract backlog reports and billing files per procedures.
Maintain project budgets within the accounting system; monitor contract performance with managers.
Prepare cash receipts journals for review.
General ledger review, journal entries, reconciliations and analysis monthly; assist in other areas.
Assist with monthly financial reporting package and manager reports.
Full charge accounts payable: invoice gathering/processing/disbursements, vendor files, voucher/package audit.
Maintain vendor files, W‑9s, vendor data in CostPoint; prepare year‑end 1099s.
Prepare bank borrowing base reports and reconcile to corporate records.
Cross train with payroll process; admin for Costpoint Time and Expense.
Assist accounting for subsidiary using QuickBooks Online.
Participate in monthly closings, audits, special projects.
Proficiency with FAR, CAS, DCAA, indirect rates, job cost, billing, contract closeout.
Proficiency with
Deltek Costpoint
Foundations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
plus at least six (6) years corporate accounting experience, three (3) of which in job cost/billing for a
government contractor .
Experience with FAR, CAS, DCAA, indirect rates, job cost, billing, contract closeout.
Experience with
Deltek Costpoint
Foundations.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUP, INDEX, XLOOKUP, SUMIFs, pivot tables, etc.).
Preferred Experience
Experience with Cognos Business Intelligence and data analytics.
Hands‑on experience with
QuickBooks Online .
Experience with
SharePoint ,
Teams ,
Zoom
and other collaborative tools.
Additional Notes
Requires critical attention to detail, high accuracy, organization, analytical ability, communication skills for remote setting.
Excellent written and verbal skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Teams.
